Question Oil pressure range question.

Ok I just built my 13b, put the 17mm oil pump in it. Shimmed the oil pressure regulators .250". When cold I'm getting 110 at idle. As it heats up the pressure drops to about 45-65 while cruising at around 4-5k. I have'nt got on it enough to find out what the pressure is at higher rpms. Does this sound normal? What is your non-stock oil system register at 4-5k when fully warmed up?

I usually see 35-40 at idle and around 90 at 4k or so...

Unhappy Too little, too late.

Awwwwwww Dammmnnnn!!!! Due do bad info from some otherwise reliable sources. My motor has spunn both front and rear staionary gear bearings. It has also slightly damaged both rotor bearings and E-shaft. Basically my motor was running around 10-15psi at idle and a total of 40psi when at or above 4k. I was told that the sending units are unreliable and I should buy an aftermarket gauge. Did that and confirmed the pressures were correct. Found the problem at the front o-ring leaking internally. Fixed that but it was too late. Even with 40-60 psi at idle and 115 when at or over 4k,the damage had allready been done. So now I will be replacing both front and rear stationary gears, e-shaft, and possibly some better rotors from RB.

Damn! That's shitty luck man. But hey, on the brighter side with the new bearings your engine should be a littler better, plus you now know the correct numbers and how it will work. Sorry to hear about the set back.

I've allready ordered new seals, gasket, etc. Ordering some new/used 9.7 rotors tonight. I've collected a couple of TII engines to use for stationary gears. I'll post pics of the carnage later tonight. I'll need some help diagnosing some scrapes on the side of the old rotors.? Also need to know what happens when the side seal is too tight? Maybe what happened to my seals? By the way I think there were multiple problems in my motor, I don's think all this happened due to low psi.
