whether you gain 100 HP through porting or through NOS there is still gonna be the same amount of stress on your engine, if you have the NOS setup running correctly(perfect fuel/Nitrous ratio) then it should last longer than the porting because the excessive power will only be produced when you are using NOS.
I would go with a port!!!

I disagree with you. I am both ported and bottle-fed, and there is definately a difference in how the engine makes power under each mod. Porting is simply allowing the motor to breathe more, nitrous forces it to. The combustion chamber temperatures are much higher under nitrous than porting also. The extreme temperature weakens the metals in the engine.

N20 decomposes in to nitrogen and oxygen when heated.(combustion chamber temps) The oxygen is then burned and gives off a lot of heat. (think oxycetalyne torch) The heat will kill your seals if used often.

Yup pluss HP is not HP...A streetport rotory will last just as long as a stock rx7 if your not using your power for long periods of time.

Nitrous does not create more heat, it has a cooling effect.

Have any of you guys even run it before, it makes ****** ice on the manifold where the injector is... Its the lack of fuel thats makes the engine hotter..it even makes my temp guage drop...

That's right, but nitrous on a car you are depending on has bit many a bro on the ***. A good street port is a safe bet.

Our race car has a 1200 shot and turns mid to upper 6's. Are you able to even put together a motor that can handle that much? Combustion temps do rise if you are squirting anything worth running.

Porting is going to be safer but your not going to make the power with it like you will with nitrous.....well unless you do some SERIOUS porting but thats not a very good daily driver application.

Do both, get a nice size street port then spray a 50-75shot on it.

You make more power by creating a larger explosion, the larger explosion means more heat.

Power = more heat which is harder on your engine. You can tune it properly and it wont be quite so hard but its still harder on the engine than stock

Chamber pressure is chamber pressure, whether a higher value is acheived chemically or by larger ports is irrelevant -in a perfect world. The nitrous system just introduces more things to fail and is harder to tune for.

Porting is gradual, not instant like nitrous. So the force applied at max pressure may be the same, but the porting will not have the *BAM* effect on your motor.
