Thumbs up New Style of Defi Gauges!

Check out Defi's new gauge series called "D-Gauge"

http://www.defi-shop.com/dgauge/dg_frm.htm

Looks like this D-Gauge series does'nt have the link system, the peak / warning mode, or the playback systems. It will Probably will be less expensive which is good. They light up amber / orange at night, unlike the link system which light up only in green. The little slider marker on the bezel is kinda cool.

Jason & the Rx7 store will probably jump on it no doubt.

One thing i just noticed that I dont like is that the new boost gauge has less reading area than the older link system. Look how the older series' 5, 15, & 25psi marks have their own labeled point and a mark for every psi point before and after. Then look on the newer ones.... its all condensed and all the psi marks in between dont go by 1psi intervals.

This is the older Link series:

nice gauge, but its kinda weird. between 0-10 psi and 10-20...there are only 8 notches. also, what do the little red lines mean??

is there something im missing here?

The needle is probably calibrated for inHg, and they just labled the positive pressure side in PSI with a loose 2:1 conversion factor. If this is the case, the gauge would be off by about 1/2 PSI at the 35 PSI mark. I guess they figured that the stupid Americans wouldn't know the difference.

Conspiracy theories not withstanding, the graduations are horrible by human factors engineering standards. Anyway, I like the bezel bug, especially if they had the forethought to illuminate it.

Hmm, I need a new job, and Defi obviously needs a human factors engineer...

that bezel is just dumb. And why couldn't they have put a warning light on it that's calibrated by the rotating bezel (seeing as how it's easier to see a blinking light out of the corner of your eye than a needle in relation to some very small marker on the border)?? Better yet, why don't they put the damn orange backlight in the link system???? They obviously have them available.

Hey I've done some looking, I've seen what the black looks like at night with the green numbers, does anybody know what the white gauge looks like?
Oh and in my searching,I have found that the price on the RX-7 store are really good.

Wow, I'm surprised that JaySpec7 didn't put up a post yet. Those gauges look pretty good, but I don't think I will get the Defi gauges.
