new to rotary engines

Ok, I'm contemplating on buying a 3rd gen RX-7, but I need a little info on rotary's. I realize that these engines need a lot more care and fine tuning than piston engines, but I just want to make sure I know all the basics and how to tell if the engine in the car I'm about to buy has been taken care of properly. So, if you guy's could share some general knowledge on these engines, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I've done a lot of research on these engines myself, but I don't know which stuff is legit. Thanks again.
