need some suggestions about our little problem...

I know this is for rotary's but still I'm sure you guys still know some about the good'ol piston....well we are rebuilding our engine for the miata and after we got the head cleaned up we didnt realize it till now but a couple of our valve seats are scarred, one more severe than the other....the picture is the worse one....

...so, we ask some local shops whether to leave it...or how to fix it....some say leave it...others say get a new head....thing is we've already invested some into this one so the question is...how do take care of the problem....

...if you guys have any ideas please say em....

thnx

Head

You are asking and answering your question in one sentence. This head is
ruined however its worth a try anyway. If it does not work get a used one
from a salvage yard. This is why you have to examine it very closely after
its removed. I have had this issue in my shop too. Its a 50-50 shot but if
you can I would try it.

Thats a cam journal. I would take it to a machine shop and see what they say. Maybe they can put the cap on and hone it out.
