Need a Clutch for Drag Racing.

Well, My car is in the final stages of getting done, and once I go through the break in of the engine, I will need a new clutch. Cause I am sure the street/strip ACT will not hold. My car should be somewhere around 500rwhp as for torque I am not sure, but I would hope for around 400rwtq. This being said, I need a clutch that will hold this at the minimum. Cause, I know I will want to push the car harder.

I was lookin into this clutch http://www.rx7store.net/index.asp?Pa...ROD&ProdID=759
or this one
http://www.rx7store.net/index.asp?Pa...ROD&ProdID=763

The spec seems alot more reasonable pricewise than the Exedy.

Thanks for your suggestions

Edan

is this for FD or FC? I can get you an OS giken twin plate clutch. they will hold well over 400lb tq and will suit your needs. They come with lightweight flywheel too. nothing extreme, just lighter than stock...lemme know

As i know many racers use the stock flywheel with ACT 6 puck extreme , or exedy single or clutchmasters fx 500 !
Is really one of this the best set-up for dragracing , for an FD with 500rwhp ?
Who has experience about this ?

I would go with the Exedy Twin Plate if you want to be sure it will hold the power. It should also be a little easier to work with in traffic.

http://www.southbendclutch.com/ Call them, tell them what you need the clutch for, and they should have a clutch for you. I'm running one from them in my turbo FB. It's a ceramic 6 puck, sprung hub, double sprung pressure plate, the pedal is as light as stock and it grips HARD.

You can't go wrong with ACT. Get a 6 or 4 puck with the extreme pressure plate.
