ok i had my housings bridge ported i hope to be assembleing my engine soon, i currently have atkins 3mm rebuild kit, everything dynamically balanced, and new bearings main and rotor. now heres the my problem my rotor housings at the bottom of the exhaust stroke right where it meets the irons has like a 1mm line or gruve or something! on both housing pretty much in the same spot. now my question is do you think it will be ok? look at the pics let me know how you guys feel.

 

thats pretty normal for older housings, but i personally wouldnt put those in an engine that i went to the trouble to balance and everything... they will work fine, but eventually that groove will grow, and they will never make quite perfect compression. its really your call, they wont blow your motor or anything if thats what youre asking...

 

any one else have any thoughts?

 

They are probably good for another 50K. Like he said above its your call. If it were my car and I wanted it to last for a couple of years I'd do it. For someone else no.

 

not sure if you guys are seeing it right. its hard to tell by the pics, but if you look real hard theres a kind of a goldish line, about 3 inches long and 1mm thin. im not talking about the common wear mark from the corner of a two piece apex seal. its kina actually like a piece got ripped off. maybe you do see, but im still kinda new to building my own rotary.

 

Exactly like patman said. Personally I wouldnt use them in a motor I cared about such as a customer car or something I put enough time into to balance. I might use them in a beater car but thats about it.

I recommend new housings if possible.
