this is my idea rotary engine that can run on diesel?
Why doesn’t someone make a rotary engine that can run on diesel? It burns at a lower temp which is a major factor to rotary’s heat problem; also it could increase the fuel economy and could still have it turbo charged ported all the same stuff that we do now for more power.
I know it would require a lot more than just putting diesel in it and glow plugs, but really there could be be power and reliability with the combination of them.
If i was an engineer I would build it.
Has anyone thought of this before, if not some do it please.
I am just thinking out side the box.

It is more complex than what one would think. The combustion process within a diesel engine generates a substantial amount of heat as well as a great deal of pressure. The diesel cycle in particular-if you look at the P-V diagrams- can generate combustion pressures that would dwarf the otto cycle pressures. This excessive amount of pressure generates tremendous heat-observing air only as the working fluid, we are talking 7000+ degree F cylinder temperatures with midrange compression ratio of around 15.5:1 or so.
I do not think that a diesel engine would be reliable unless budgets were not an issue, the ability to create new irons specific for this purpose, higher compression ratio rotors, etc. etc.
