Msd 7a ?

DID any one know the different between 6A and 7A? I plan to put some IGN box on my 13B PP road race car. one of my friend told me MSD 6A will only work under 6K. how about 7a? I check the msd site, look like a lot of drag racer use 7a all the time ? I wonder will it work on road race car ??

I think the MSD 6A has a glitch at 8k if run in a direct fire arrangement with two coils hooked in parallel. I don't think it has a problem if used with a DIS coil.

I don't think it matters very much as to which type of racing a 7A is used for. It is not approved by the DOT for use on polution controlled vehicles, or something like that. Only the 6A and 5A are (I think).

It depends on what you already have, and what you're willing to buy. It also depends on your electrical skill level to some extent.

Is your car older than '86?
