my pride and joy is my 7 but as a company car i have a 2003 Audi A3 1.9tdi.
i am asking you lot because i dont trust audi owners!
do the cheap manual boost valves you can get off ebay actually work and increase boost??
because its a company car i dont want to spend much money on it but want to increase the kick a little bit, will this work as a temporary fix???

Yes, they do work, it's just a pressure valve that controls the opening of the wastegate. On a stock car the wastegate opens early to expell extra boost, which keeps the turbo pressure at a set point which they choose. If you install one of these valves it will bypass the stock system and allow you to manually adjust when your wastegate will start to expell turbine pressure. That way you can set it to open later effectively giving you a higher boost pressure. BUT YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL! You could totally blow the engine up doing this, so make sure you follow all of the instructions!
I would suggest this one: http://www.3barracing.com/product_8.htm its made specifically for your engine.
Just an extra tid bit of info, an electronic boost controller is just like a manual boost controller but it is electronically controlled by solenoids or stepping electric motors, so it can constantly and instantly make any adjustements that it needs to make to keep the desired boost level, and prevent and warn of overboost. This is why they are safer. If you're driving an audi as a company car I'm guessing you might have a little money to spend on a boost controller, i would definitely suggest going with an electronic one, especially if it is a company car, you wouldnt want to accidentally blow it up!
