The procedure to change out the main drive pulley is difficult at best. The power gain is not significant. I know, because I have the full set of under drive pulleys. You might get a total of 10-15 hp gain from the full set of pulleys, but you will need newbelts and a good 1-2 days of free time to do the install.

Good: More usable horsepower for ur engine, slowing down your accesories; possibly extending their life

Bad: If the pulleys are too large they lower the RPMs on the accesories so much that at idle you will loose power to them. Best example are the lights dimming at a stop.

That's all I've been able to find out. Hope that helps.

I usually tell people to go with the Greddy pulley set which is the water pump/alternator pulleys and the unorthodox mainpulley. I dont recommend installing the unortho pulley unless you know what your doing. There are other alternatives like the Pettit mainpulley that is very easy to install.

Hello,

I have the Greddy alternator/water pump pulleys with the Unorthodox "R" (single pulley model) main pulley. I no longer have the A/C or P/S or airpump.

You will need approximately a 29 inch 5 rib belt to run that setup for the alt/wp. If you're in a pinch finding a 29 inch 5 rib belt.... I bought a Goodyear "4060290" belt and cut off one rib carefully with a pair of scissors.

I think that according to Max Cooper you can also use a Gates K050290 belt. I'm guessing that from the part number this is a 5 rib 29 inch belt. I couldn't track this one down, so I ended up hacking the Goodyear 6 ribber up. I have not tested this setup on the street YET... maybe tomorrow. I'm 99.9% sure that there won't be a problem from me cutting a rib off.

Regards,
Brian
