Jesus Padilla wins all motor class at Pomona

Was just at nhra's site and here is the snippet I got.

" Jesus Padilla scored his seventh win of the season and finally unleashed the true potential of his championship-winning RX-7 when he took a 10.04, 132.54 single run in the All Motor final when Leslie Durst did not return following Sunday night's postponement."

I tried accessing their results page, but they seem to have some bad code cause I got a asp error.

I'm told that his N/A 3 rotor setup is not ALL MOTOR legal anymore.....so he can't run that class, but he claims he is building a 10 second 13B N/A.....?????? Can't wait to see that....

That is true the 3 rotor is illegal in all motor next year. No big deal though. Ken sheepers and his 13B are already running like 10.7s. Ken could only manage mid 11s until Padilla helped him So you know that Padilla is gonna be back with some crazy **** next year.

I personally saw Jesus Padilla @ Englishtown NJ and asked him what will be his game plan for next year. He told me a lighter first gen. and a 13B P-Port engine with some tricks up his sleeve. congrats to Jesus ...

That sucks just because a different kind of engine wins they have to ban it! it happened at le mans and now the Nhra. Goddamn it! Those piston poppers have too much protection from the sactioning bodies.

The same **** happened with VW type motors a long time back. I forgot the details other than it was in drag racing. They were running needle bearings on the mains and push rods and really made these things scream.
As far as I know they still hold the 1/8 mile record at a local track in Kennedale Texas. I don't keep up with drag racing anymore. Some people here I am sure know more deails and more current examples of getting banned for being innovative. There was the twin turbo GM V-6's that got a ban in the 80's as well.

I agree with the ban on the 20B it had a very big advantage over the other cars. Would you like it if they allowed 4 liter V6s to compete in the all motor class... I didnt think so.

Sure - provided the same manufacturer/chassis..

What 4.0 v6 were you thinking that might be competition anyways?

i agree, the 20b has too much of an advantage over those 4cyl. hondas. it's not a prob. though cause a well built 2 rotor can still kick their ***.

It was a hypothetical situation.
