intake adaptor and filter

intake adaptor and filter

i just bought an intake adapter and KandN filter, and thinking i knew everything there is to know about cars i popped the hood... stared at the stock airbox for about 10 mins, closed the hood, and came to the computer... anyone please can ya gimme some help on how id go about installing this, directions, pictures, hell ill even deal with condescending answers that are so frequently given on these boards, whatever can help me with this situation..

take the lid of, remove the bolts holding the box in place, remove the 4 bolts holding the box to the afm, remove box, bolt adapter to afm with the 4 bolts, attach filter to adapter, figure out how to hold it in place secutly (bolt it to something, use a coat hanger, zip tie it,.. or leave it loose, your choice). then go out and test it.

I have two more things to add:

The hose attached to the air box is the intake for the air pump. You don't need to worry about this if your air pump is removed, or if you are otherwise not using it. If you plan on keeping the air pump, then you should buy a small "crank case vent" filter for it, which is available at most generic auto parts stores. Air pumps are expensive, and you don't want them to ingest dirt if you can help it.

Don't mess with the wires going to the Air Flow Meter. These are very important, and a lot of people have ruined them inadvertently.

i havent yet perormed the switch, but thanks a ton for the help, if theres anythign else just keep firing..
