Question Injection

Hi.
I`am in the process of installing Bosch Digijet injection.
Can someone please help with the firing of the injectors??Everything is setup, just the "Ignition trigger" needs to find a home in the enginebay.

Thanks
Karis

Tell us more about what you're up to I'm curious. You are adapting it to a rotary of some sort I assume? I tried to get some info. on the Digijet but I seem to be inept. All I could figure out that it came on mid 80's VWs.

It`s a 4 into 1 intake manifold, the butterfly measures 100mm (4") from there 4" pipe connects it to the airlflow meter ,from a 735i Bmw .The air filter is a cone type Bmc.
The normal sensors are connected, watertemp, lambda and so on.4x 450cc injectors

To answer your question, its a all-fire-at once type, that`s why its difficult to fire at the right time. The engine is a j-bridge..so the overlap does make it difficult.
I know for sure it wont be easy, but why not?I bought it for $60 including the fuelpump !

Thanks for checking it out!

That sounds like quite the challenge you've undertaken. I was looking for some basic info. on the Digijet system and all I could find was this PDF link. My apologies if it's redundant to you.

So, the main issue is getting the primaries to fire w/o the secondaries?

Tell me a little about your ignition. Are you using a regular distributor?

My Dad's been a mechanic specializing in German cars since the 60's, so if I can understand your problem thoroughly then I could elicit his help. He's really a genius when it comes to this stuff.

Cheers

Halo Sir.
Thanks for your effort.
Seeing the the rotors are 180deg out of phase,i think the rear rotor would backfire if the fuel is injected at the same time as the front rotor. So i`am trying to figure out if it will or will not cause a problem. On the boingers, there isnt a problem, because 2 of the cylinders use the fuel injected into the manifold.Basicllly :Will the second rotor backfire when the fuel is injected as the first rotor approaches TDC..

I dont know,maybe the Hat-trick i`am pulling is a bit impossible ?

I talked to my Dad a little bit about it and he didn't have a ready answer. I think it may be more trouble than it's worth.

If you had another system to run parallel and could find a way to fire them independantly, maybe. There were some early model rotaries with dual distributors. That would help.

I'm pretty sure the engine wouldn't like fuel in the other chamber, but I need to do some thinking as to what exactly would happen.

I'll keep chewing on it. Cheers
