Smile Important questions for you gurus...

Where can I get some good numbers to crunch on? I never hear anything about the volumetric efficiency of different intake lengths, port setups (volumetric flow rate), manifold setups, etc. Info on BSFC. Back pressure effects on turbo setups, and hp ranges. I know some of you have vast experience with these numbers, but I never here them brought up. It's like no one even plans their setups on here, they just ask what hp, and someone'll tell 'em a kit to slap on .

I'd also like to learn some info on port design... how length of a port would effect timing, flow, etc. I'm sure that's getting into some "trade" secrets, but people have to learn somewhere.

So come on, let's get some good info going in here (I don't plan on any responses, but I thought I'd try )

Ya know I honestly thought, I'd get some info from you for awhile. I know you are busy tho, so after 1 PM and 1 email, I decided to leave it be. Haven't heard from ya since ...

Yeah so plan B: Ask everyone else, and hope for the best.

I have been in the process of colating (right word?) all my data and information into a book style set up, saved as a word type document, it is a very VERY long process, as I have a lot of data on many topics, most my own and alot from other Rotary engine companies from very many different era's, most of which is very pertinent to todays endevaours for us in particular.

Quoting these sources, and giving them due credit is something I am wanting to do when putting together my own mini rotary engine performance guide, along with sharing my testing and theoretical data and formulas etc.

As of this stage I do not think I will be able to complete this work in the near future as it does cover alot of Mechanical Engineering priciples of or near graduate level, hence I am trying to slim down alot of the Formula related stuff to apeal to a greater cross section of people who are seeking advice. The problem is that a lot of the subjects need the Mech Eng detail to be fully understood, in this I mean giving the reader the power to follow the theory and then apply it for them selves, allowing reliable results to be achieved without guess work.

I am not sure if I am going to put (try to) it into some type of electronic print in the future hence the long time it is taking me to get my act together, this combined with every day car/engine activities and basic life, have meant that I do not get on here much either any more.

Hope you understand....

I am still willing to answer shortish questions on single topics via my private e-mail, general turn around is about a week

Sorry for ignoring your request.

maybe you could categorize. Like the gray section of each chapter is very technical, blue is easy, grey is formulas blah blah blah.

It's not a big deal. I value you're hard work and dedication towards rotories. I've been leaning towards just upgrading my car using some guesstimating, and custom work temporarily, and also buy another car to quench my performance thirst. My true love are rotories tho, and I've talked to some friends about doing flow research, etc, but I just don't have the resources or time.

I've learned tons about rotories. Enough that without learning the "theoretical", I'm pretty much at the end. They are my hobby though, and I will wait and even start my own research if necessary. In the mean time, it's time for another car...
