Question IDRC Race this Sunday @ Maple Grove........Can I run Mickey Thompson ET streets?

Sup guys.....Was wondering if any of you knew about this. Ive used ET streets in the NIRA races, but heard you can't in IDRC....Is this true? (just drag radials?)
TIA,
Ernie

Hi Ernie,

Nope, no street slicks.....they want a full radial tire. BFG or Nitto drag radials are allowed and MT's also make a drag radil (I think).

I should be there in my white T-II fighting off some DSM's
and Supras

Hopefully, I'll break the 10's on drags radials:p

Street slicks even though they are D.O.T. approved are NOT allowed in the IDRC street class, that class requires a radial tire. BTW there is a rumor going around that next season IDRC will be allowing D.O.T. slicks back in due to alot of the competitors complaining about getting loose in 3rd and 4th gears due to the HP that they are making, henceforth making it unsafe, so to fix this problem it looks like the IDRC might change the rules next year to allow D.O.T. slicks, this had happened with the domestic Mustang street class as well, and they concluded that it actually was safer to go to a D.O.T. slick, rather than have people crashing all over the place at high speed.

IDRC to allow slicks in the street class in 2002!
That's not a rumor but a fact!!!!!!
I got that from the street car champions themselves
Here comes the 9 sec street cars now
Now if only NHRA would follow suit!
