idles up/down when cold, doesnt start sometimes when warm...?!?!? can anybody tell me what my problem could be with my second gen 87 13B? when i start my car with engine cold, it idles up and down . when it warms up, it idles just fine and runs fine. but sometimes when i turn it off when it is warm and leave it for 10 minutes or longer, it doesnt want to start. i took out my plugs a couple of times and they were charred black. when i clean them off, then it starts up right away. what is the deal? email me at indrosebud15@aol.com for any suggestions, PLEASE!

 

You need to turn the TPS screw clockwise until it stops. Usually a half turn. It could also be the wiring to the unit. That caused my 88 RX7 to not start when it was warm. Some fool routed the wiring so that it actually sat on the air pump which got hot enough to melt some wires!

 

opps... I mean counter clockwise! If you go too far it'll hesitate on acceleration
