I need books!!!
Can anyone recommend any literature on rotary engine tuning. I am farmiliar with generic engine tuning, but I would like some references pertaining directly to the 13b (it must be out there somewhere). Anyone know of anything good?
Thanks much

TUNING an engine is just that tuning, or adjusting all the parameters, that are involved to make it do what you want. I doubt that any book can make you a tuneup expert, it takes yrs. of practice, AKA. instinct tells you , you are about to go into heavy detonation, just as the rotary turbo goes to severe spike at to low an rpm. also N/A engines are about bullet proof, then add big boost completly different animal, just about anything on N/A dont work on high HP turbo rotarys
the game plan is to turbocharge an NA s5, we have all the necessary parts, we just need to get the headers fabricated. planning on running about 8psi until we get water injection, then push up to around 14psi. i'm not too sure how possible this will be, but we will start small and monitor EGTs and slowly ramp up. i'm just looking for some basic info. for example, i have heard ppl on the forums say "rotaries always need to run a little richer than you would run a piston engine". i would imagine little tid bits like that would be in some book some place, but with a little more detail included...links to websites that people have had good experience with would work for now too. thanks
there is lots of info on that on this site. take a look at the base maps thread in the microtech section, i posted a general rotary tuning outline type thing there.
other than the specific numbers, which are sorta subjective anyway, tuning is tuning, the engine type really isnt that important.
personally i think tuning is the least of your worries, as there are a lot of reasons why most people don't try to turbocharge NA motors.
