I love rotaries!!!

People say to me; "Donut why would you take out a perfectly good rotary engine out of your RX-7 and ruin it with a caveman piston motor?"

I usually respond with something witty like; well there is no such thing as a perfectly good rotary engine. The god damn things are always broken.

I'm glad to see that the ALL NEW RX-8 is going to follow in this tradition. If it wasn't such an ugly POS I'd buy one of these and put a v-8 in it too.

One example. Every car model has bad ones, you found one, excellent work detective.

And just for your information, N/A rotaries are much more reliable than piston motors, its when you throw a turbo or turbos on there that engine life becomes an issue. Do some homework. 3 moving parts vs. 40+ moving parts in the average 4 cylinder engine. I'd take simplicity any day.

3 moving parts my ***!!! You forgot the oil pump inside the engine and the 9 three piece apex seals.

AND

Then you forgot about 8 actuators in the induction system.

AND

Two turbos.

AND

13 F'n solenoids

You guys are eating your own **** feedback style.

Embrace truth!

You're right. The nice thing about the Mazda rotaries is they are much more consistant. Basically they all suck.

haha.

What you smell is the bullshit on your lip from the meal of crap you've just swallowed from the rotary propaganda machine.

9 apex seals? Which 3 rotor FD is yours again?

And I was talking about the engine itself. Piston motors have solenoids and actuators around them as well, especially forced induction motors.

You haven't been around here in a while, redneck.

Be gone, redneck.

p.s. a solenoid isn't a moving part, redneck.

Yeah, but I'm bored. Got nothing else to do this afternoon, might as well agitate him enough to get him to do something stupid enough to get banned, then we won't have to deal with him.

Blah blah blah.

You know good and god damn well that the rotary in the 3rd gen has several glaring flaws in it's design.

a) Too much HP out of too small an engine. Detonation == Destruction

b) That retarded induction system with 70 vac lines and actuators out the ***

c) Coolent and oil leaks.

And just to let you know. The piston motor in my RX-7 (don't you just LOVE the way that sounds) has one vac line and one actuator. Vac line to the brakes and the idle speed control motor. Don't you just love a simple and effective design?!

In every single objective measurment it's better than the rotary that the car came with. And on the subjective side! It sounds better too.

The RX-8 will be the last rotary engine powered car made. And that makes me happy.

Magic?

I transposed 68 into 86 when I typed in my B-Day.

I'm really 35.
