How to remove/replace exhaust sleeves?

Hi.

Could someone please tell me the best/easiest way to replace the exhaust sleeves? I have a 6-port rotorhousing, that is going on a 13B "RE" engine (-off a JC cosmo). I have some shot FD housings, and was thinking about using the FD sleeves. Any sence in that? (I have not stripped the 6-port motor yet, and compared the exhaust ports).

Thank you for your posts...

They are easily removed:
One way to do it is to weld a bolt to it and yank it out.

I prefer to use a masonary drill(Murbor) as they are hardened a normal drill wont do it.
Replace them with new ones when you install th FD sleeves.

6-port sleeves has diffusers in them, they would be kindda restrictive and **** up flow on a turbomotor.

Here's the write-up I produced on RotaryBlvd for it. It's pretty simple; 5 minutes per exhaust sleeve. http://www.rotaryblvd.org/index.php?showtopic=1272

By the way, I don't recommend using the Cosmo rotor housings. The opening edge of the exhaust port ramps itself downwards and is not horizontal.

Talking Thanks...

HI.

Thanks for the tips...

The Cosmo housings are gone. That's why I have to resleeve some NA 6 port ones. I will put FD (REW) exhaust sleeves in.

I will try this, and post the results.

Again, thanks. This forum is awsome, and you should all be proud of yourselves ! (-got to kiss ***, as I might have more questions later ;-) )

Ciao

Can you just leave the sleeve out?
