How do i get more power without tearing open the engine?
hi , i have a '91 gxl NA and am looking for more power.
only i dont have the time, money, expertise, or facilities to tear the engine open and do a bridge or street port
i already have a full exhaust and a k&n
I also need the car to remain rellyable and streetable.
is there any type of porting that can be done without tearing down the engine (intake manifold perhaps)?
I'm oppen to any suggestion, tip, or piece of wild speculation that may put a little more juice into my beloved 7.
thanks

This is what I would do (in no particular order):
Port airflow meter and adapter plate for K/N
Port plastic elbow where it has that sharp corner (smooth it down)
Port the throttle body and remove the "warm up plates"
Match port the intake manifold (smooth over casting imperfections and match the openings to each other)
Wrap your header in heat wrap to keep engine bay temps down
Install a ram / cold air intake fed by the passenger side brake duct
Install an S-AFC and slightly lean out your upper RPM range
Do some weight reduction (remove towing plates front and rear, brackets and panels under the carpeting etc.)
