High compression 13b Turbo motor report:

I only have 20 miles on the engine, but it was just rebuilt 3k ago so everything was pre broken in.

Specs:
S4 NA rotating assembly
FD corner seals
RA seals with OEM springs
OEM seals at 3k ago.
Thermo pelet
Cyro bearings
Large street port

Mods:
GSL SE 680 cleaned and tested injectors
Ported and gasket matched intake manifolds
Ported TB and TB mod
2.5" TID w/ 3"cone filter
Stock exhaust
No cats, no emissions, no air pump, no rats nest.
VDO boost guage.
Dual alternator belt pully
Aftermarket random BOV
FCD
Fluidyne aluminum radiator
S5 turbo with ported wastegate
Regrounded motor with 8/4guage.

Random car stuff:
Kuhmo Supra 720's tires
New rotors and brake pads.
Alpine stereo, infinity speakers, RF amps, JL sub.
Everstart battery

I took this for a test drive today. at 8psi it scared the crap out of me. I pushed it further to 10psi which it held solid, that glued me to my seat. I have NO fuel controller. It has a very slight lower rpm and low boost hesitation, but it clears right up and runs GREAT.

I know im crazy . Pictures/videos later.

hey spyder

you know, i've been thinking about putting high compression rotors in my engine for my next rebuild (hopefully not anytime soon). S4 rotors are the 9.7:1 compression?

how can you have 3000k breakin but the engine is only 20 miles old?

would you mind giving some feedback about your rotary aviation seals and the condition of your rotor housings? and would you be able to take compresson numbers for your car every 1000 miles or so?

Motor was torn down at 3k due to every bearing in the motor being spun..... It was nasty. Everything except what has been mentioned, including the apex, side, corner, and oil seals were already broken in and a new set of soft seals used. Every seal was put back into exactly where it came from on the new rotors, front and rear respectivly.

The housings were in great shape at 3k, but I did notice there was no more milky coating, rather a nice silver shine. I speced the housings and inspected the surface and everything looked great. The seals seem to be working great, they all had equal wear on them and looked to be in great shape for the abuse I put them through.

I am afriad I can not test it, I will be selling the car . Sorry.

no appologies needed.. just that feedback gives me better confidence with my rotary aviation seals... they were also used on brand new housings. there have been a lot of speculation and people expereincing worn housings after using RA seals... but i couldnt find anyone that used new housings.

so any difference between s4 and s5 rotors?

good luck on your sale.

What caused all the spun bearings?

you need a new ecu real soon. my setup is very close to yours and at 11 psi i was running VERY lean, so i went standalone. not only will it be safer, but you'll get about 80 more hp or something rediculous....it made a huge difference in my car.

Front thermo pelet failure. Starved the eshaft of oil at high rpms. It was my fault, I should have used a replacment pelet in the first place.

Wideband showes its only lightly leaning out above 7k.
I will toss a MBC on here at 8psi and call it good. I cant keep all these toys so this ones sold. I am however advertizing that it NEEDS a form of fuel controller.
