NGK B8EGVs and B9EGVs

These are actually motorcycle plugs designed to keep from fouling.
They are not the "flat" style OEM type plugs. They have the usual gapable(sp?) anode - electrode tip.

They do require a thin walled plug socket to install. I used a bench grinder and modified a good quality(S-K) socket to fit.

I've been running them for about 700 miles and I am very pleased with the results. They are still NGK and only $17.00 for all 4. Got them at Autozone.

Thumbs down Plugs...

Now that I have run over 500k miles in my 8 RX7's I have owned, I decided to use the NGKs ONLY! The Autolites are junk! Don't use them! They last for about 5000 miles....maybe and are done! I tried them for a while and they just are NOT up to the NGK quality. I also don't recommend any plugs that are not made for burning oil like the stockers. You will only run into problems after the miles rack up. Trust me.....the wankel and the NGK's are the best combo that works for stock cars....

The HKS colder plugs are also good for modified cars, and I heard there are some marine (boat) engine plugs that are cheaper and work well, but I have not tried them yet.

I run 9's on the hwy, and 7's in the mains and 9's in the secondaries when the temps are higher or if racing. If you are stock....use the stock plugs.....if you have mods to rev to 8500rpm and have exhaust mods and drive on the hwy a lot then put the 9's in all 4 or maybe even 10's in the secondaries. Depends on your mods.....

I get my plugs at Discount Auto Parts for $4.25 each new! Check around and you can find them a lot cheaper than $8 bucks..

Just my million miles/ .02 cents worth..
I really am trying to be helpfull and not a jerk.....I promise.
Good luck!
