Has anyone ever ported the intake ports on a 4 port before. What I mean is you ported out your manifold ports bigger, and then to allow more air into the engine, you ported the intake ports larger also?

The reason that I ask is I have a six port Jaytech manifold and I cut the dividers off, and I was thinking about porting the intake ports so I can port match them. Does anybody follow what I am saying?
Gambone- That is a beautiful setup that you have there and I would like to do something custom like that in the future.

Papasmurf-
You have a 6 port manifold that you have ground the divider out of to make it 4 ports and you want to know if you can port a 4 port motor's 2ndary runners to match it?
I think the problem you may have is the casting for the intake runners in the side plates is only so thick before you are into the water jacket area.
If you could get the motor's ports to match the modified manifold- I forsee another problem you may have.
A big velocity drop as the intake charge slows due to the larger volume it has to flow through at the end of the runners. I seem to remember this is one reason Dave Lemon of Mazdatrix cited for 6 port motors siamesed into 4 ports having terrible driveability.
