Greddy 3 row FMIC vs. Apexi FMIC
which is best in terms of cooling and which one gives the most lag? I have coming in a 500r turbo kit and needs to upgrade my intercooler. I am having it tuned for 15psi.
Thanks

Funny you should mention both. I had the Apex'i and went to the Greddy 3-row.
The answers to your questions revolve around what will be your running conditions and max boost. I found at 20 psi, in back-to-back runs in warm weather the Apex'i could not keep the IAT cool. In each 20 psi run I would see a 10c increase in temps, before dropping down when back at cruise for a couple of minutes. The Greddy 3-row showed no such increase in IAT, at most a 1-2c, which very quickly dropped down.
I define "a run" as 40 to ~140.
I saw some more pressure drop with the longer tubing with the Greddy kit. Slowed my turbo down about 200rpm in spool up, everything else remaining the same (IAT were within 2c).
Another "disadvantage" of the 3-row is that it is so "in your face." Exposed to bugs, rocks, and much more "bling" than the Apex'i.
So if you are going to run under 18psi, like something set back, away from potential damage from debris and parking lot incidents, get the cheaper Apex'i. Or go with a SMIC (ASP large).
