Garrett GT42 vs. Maste Power GT45
I am struggling to find any decent documentation on Master Power turbos. Compressor maps, inducer/exducer, etc... After reading around on the forums, people say that the garrett gt42 and the mpgt45 are the same (or close to the same) specs. Can anybody verify this with some hard evidence?
I've heard nothing but good things about Master Power T70's, 62-1's, and 60-1's, but it doesn't seem like many have actually used the GT45.

You might have more luck posting this in the Single Turbo section.
See kabooski's post in this thread for a little more info on the Garrett GT42 vs. MP GT45:

Laying Down Rotary Law
actually its here
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...4&page=3&pp=15
its not a bad turbo
has like a T5 split opening
a GT style CHRA
actually its closer to that of a HKS T51 with a blend of a Garrett GT
I think Master Power in Brazil
has a license from Garrett to reproduce some of there products
(wheels, CHRA etc)
It can be had for $650-675
if your on a budget
I would so go for it
should make 500+ HP
the only thing that had me worried
and the reason why I sold it
was warrenty
read of a few problems getting parts
from brazil
and taking forever to get turbos back

I swear, it is like breaking into the national security system trying to find a compressor map for the damn thing.
I'm not on a budget, but if I can save a few bucks for a turbo equal in quality, then why not go for it. T5 split opening...explain por favor.

Yes the Masterpower Gt45 is same spec as the Garrett Gt42. However i think the masterpower model is better because it uses the t4 flange on turbine with a smaller v band which makes dump pipe and manifold construction easier.
I am the NewZealand dealer for them. feel free to pm for prices and any question you may have regarding the gt45 and other specs

MP GT45 is actually smaller then a Garrett GT42
Here's some specs on the MP GT45:
810017 TURBO GT45
810018 CHRA
807258 Shaft & Wheel S4 77.5mm Left THD
807151 Compressor Wheel 68.9mm
801154 Turbine Housing A/R 1.05 77mm NB078
807093 Compressor Housing GT45 69.0mm NB066
Their MP T70 actually has bigger inducer on the compressor wheel and matches Turbonetics T70 but the exducer matches a Turbonetics T66.
810015 Turbo T 70 - " P " .68 Tang.
810010 Cart. Assembly*
807347 Turbine Wheel TO4”P” Trim 64.5mm / 2.53” (Ind. 2.539”. May. 2.913”)

I just forked out for a GARRETT GT45, but a friend of mine said I would've been better keeping the money and getting a MP T70. Thoughts? I'm currently running 550hp @ the flywheel @ 11.6psi.
