Fuel pump outlet and fuel line size Q?

I currently have 3 bosch fuel pumps and each one has a 3/8" in and out. Will there be any negative effect to running 3/8"- 1/2" adapters at each pump? Or would it be the same as running 3/8" the whole way since the inlet/outlet size of the fuel pump is 3/8"? Am I wasting my money buying 1/2" line or should I get bigger pumps that have 1/2" in and out?

When I was in Japan I dyno'd in 578rwhp. I don't plan on much more than 600 or so. I know thats about the limit for -6 right?
