Yes, you too can make a Side Seal Removal Tool of Doom (SSRToD) with one of those first-run Rotary Aviation apex seals that you may have leftover! Just simply grind the sides of the wedge-shaped edge of the seal to just under 0.7mm thickness and voila: A super-duper broken (or stuck) side seal removal tool. The seal is so hard that it will not break while using light taps with a hammer to wedge those broken or stuck pieces out of a groove!

Have a peek and enjoy.

I tried a stock apex seal but it wound up breaking. The RA one however didn't. Seems to be particular to this seal. Haven't tried an old Atkins one but I bet it'd break, too. Anyhoo, I thought it'd be worth a good laugh.
