fmic detailing question

Will painting the fins of a front mount intercooler affect the performance of an intercooler? Im thinking of painting my custom NPR FMIC to make it look newer. I know i have to use a flat paint but what should i use?. DO i need a High Temp aerosol??..

I don't get it why painting it and if you paint it rocks would chip it and makes it looks like, you know.
