Flapper valve inside TII exhaust manifold?
I see that there is a flapper valve inside the exhaust manifold. Can I take this out or does it need to stay. If I can take it out, how do I do so? This is on a TII engine. Thanks

Keep Right Except to Pass
That twin-scroll system was designed to help out lag before 2,500 rpm, but some people say that the restriction it poses doesn't make it worth it.
To remove it you just need to remove the flapper and weld up the hole. Then remove the actuator and cap off the vac line.
You might want to port the wastegate since you've got it all apart. You'll be glad you did when you start upgrading.
What'd you sell your gixxer for?
Cheers

I sold it just for a grand. Someone that test rode it to buy it crashed it, he actually stole it, and I am going to take him to court. I was wondering how do I remove that flapper, it seems to be in there pretty well. I also might find a custom manifold and a larger turbo since this is being used for drag racing. But how in the world do I take that flapper apart? Thanks

What make it worst Node is that he said he would get it taken care of, and then stopped talking to me. But I know where he lives and works.
Back to this flapper thing, does anyone know how to exactly remove it without cutting it out. If that has to be done, well then so be it.
