i have a couple of stock engine 1000cc motorcycles that run in the 9s. one is extended and runs low 9s, the other runs 9.70s stock wheelbase but none of them are as cool as this little car.

i would like a nice car inside as well as outside. if you make more hp your car can look good inside like a nice prostreet car. i'm trying to put back as much of the inside as possible. i wan't to enjoy this car street strip. i have only seen 1 rx3 on the street in long island ny. i have never seen a prostreet import on the road just trying to be different.

Very awesome car, love the old RX's
What color are you going to do the engine bay? The black looks good, just need to respary it lol.
Why would it need to be moved? Its in rotary car performance, it might be a drag car but this thread has nothing to do with drag racing, just mounting an engine.

Looks like you have other plans for a pro street car, so good luck on your project. But be forwarned. 99% of the people I see who try and build a pro street car end up either turning the car into a full race car of full street car or the worst case scenario- show car. The reason being is that it's just not enjoyable to drive a car setup like this for any length of time on the street.

It's more like a couple hundred pounds which makes a big difference in a drag car. That car you bought was originally set up for a full drag car and thus the reason it was gutted. If you make more power and put all the interior back inside the car and race another car with the same power but it is "gutted"- you lose. I think this is common sense stuff here and why I was kind of erked by your "why do people gutt cars" question.

to me it would be a waste to build a car that i can only enjoy at the track. i will drag race and drive it on weekends to some local meets. i had a built 04 zx10 200whp on 87 octane ran a best of 8.79@157mph. i rode this bike to the track about 75miles one way. i killed most of the bikes with aftermarket bodies, race fuel, stripped to the bone. i just like to enjoy what i put my hard earned money into. lets face it most of the guys that gut these cars out don't run in a heads up class so it's a waste if your going to index (bracket) race.
And buying a race car for bracket racing is a waste IMO. Just keep the money in your pocket and use your daily driver.
