Well, there are other options too..

Like if you have a 13B 6 or 4 port, you could use the intake from a later cousin. These could be had in a junk hard for next to nothing i would think.

And if you don't have access to one that will fit your motor, you could always get an adapter.

I believe i have seen 6port to 4 port adapters and vise versa.. I have also seen 12a to 13B adapters so you could probably adapt that do your 12a.

then just get the rest if you want to be inventive you can do it very cheap.

I still like carburation better, its way cheaper than efi !!!!My NIkki cost me $40.00 ... , ported the stock manifold, done... the motor made 540whp ,,, and the car drove good, i drove about every other day....started good , idled good, good throttle response... i was happy... the only problem i had was keeping fuel in the carb above 22psi.. that proved impossible so i bought fuel injection... racingbeat 12a manifold...$300.00 / throttlebody $300.00.....fuelrails $200.00 / injectors, good ones $500.00 / halltechF9 with terminated wiring kit$1100.../ sensor kit TPS ,coolant, air temp, MAP, $150.00../ laptop computer to tune...$800.00 used.... lets see thats $2550 plus the computer,, thats what i spent to go fuel injected....was it worth it???i went back to the dyno and made 680whp @28psi on the same motor....with the fuel injection it comes on boost faster, idles a-little smoother, drives the same ,still uses a ton of gas, the only difference is you can controll the fuel alot more acuratly at high boost levels... at lower than 20psi the power gains were small 20-30 hp max ... i dont think thats worth $2550! the real test will be when i go to the track .... consistant? i hope! i still love carburators!, definatly the most bang for the buck!!!!also i think alot more people know how to tune and maintain carbs over tuneing thier programmable fuel injection!!! as far as troubleshooting... there is way less stuff to go wrong with carburation!!

zyounker, you'd need an adapter no matter what if you're trying to fudge an OEM manifold to a 13B 4-port or a non turbo 12A. They don't have injector bungs in the center housing. (13B 6-ports do) So you either have to try to find room in the intake manifold for center injectors, or you put the bungs in the adapter plate. Or you use a GSL-SE center plate when building the engine

I understand that peejay.. But alot of people have later engines in their cars.. I said you would have to get an adapter if you didn't have the correct manifold avaliable for your engine.. There are sooo many posibilities, i didn't feel like going into them all..

If you have a later engine, use the manifold that comes with the engine. Simple. If the engine doesn't come with a manifold, don't buy it.

Well, alot of people even run later engines with carbs for tunability, what about them? maybe they realize that they can run EFI.

My point is there are TONS of possibilities.. I didn't want to go through everything. But EFI is very easy and not really expensive..
