FD oil pump on FC irons?

Tried to search, but havent found answer.

Question is - Can you use FD oil pump on S4 TII or S5 TII iron and would it be beneficial?

I dont have the the FD pump here with me to test it out, but if it bolts same, then only modification to the FC iron needed would be porting bottom of face where pump sits - to match extra opening which is on FD pump and is not on FC pump.
Extra opening should do for extra flow i suppose.

And one more benefit if this works, price.

FD pump is cheaper than FC

($135 vs $169)

Doesn't matter...
They are all 17.5mm thick rotor.
The FD oil pump isn't any better than an FC turbo oil pump.
(FC non-turbo oil pump is "smaller".)

yeah, but that extra opening down there should help the flow, or is there other reason for it?

FD oil pump works with S5 iron. Port the S5 iron cavity to match FD iron. It will work.

There is not enough iron in the S4 plate.

REVIVAL!

There's some good info here, esp the part about the s5 vs the s4 irons...

however i am going to attempt to put an FD pump(for the cheaper price) and an s4 iron, by adding meat with my welder, and then grinding to spec.
