FD engine build options

want to run 15psi on street and 20psi at the track once in a while. With my Apex turbo I figure about 400rwhp. This winter I'd like to build up the motor here is what I plan on doing...

3mm apex seals
cryo treated seals or carbon matalic
street port
oil port
high rev rotor berings

anything else I should consider? some people say the 3mm isn't worth it, still pops the same with detonation, thoughts opinons ?

yeah you should consider saving money for a rebuild when you pop your carbon seals.

I say use solid corner seals, Rotary Aviation 2mm apex seals w/ double springs, no cryo treating (waste of money; unsubstantiated claims), and use the replacement gear/rotor bearings you've mentioned. The oil mods (there's only a few that are worthwhile) will be handy.

Let me do the engine if you'd like. PM me and I'll let you know what I charge to do all porting and assembly, etc.

All I have to say.....Mazda oem corner seals and 3 piece Mazda seals if available.

BDC: have you seen the wear from the solid corner seals on the side plates in a daily driver engine???
Rotary Aviation seals have yet to prove themselves in a high-hp engines.....or high mileage motor.

Same here, I concur, I've been running 18psi on the street on my daily driven FD on 93 octane for a while now, and no problems, stock seals are the way.
