extrude honed....

i hear that a modded fd will really see no benefits from an exrude honed intake. i have seen power increases on some honda and acura cars as high as 30hp....why would it not benefit from this.....

You do need some turbulence into order to properly mix the fuel and attomize it into a consitant air/fuel mixture.

The reason those cars gain HP from Intake or Head porting is because the are natural asperated motors that draw air inside under vacuum. Air increases due to less resistance is a benefit. When a car has air forced inside the intake manifold it doesnt matter how well it flows. There is little to no benefit unless you have reached the intakes volumetric limits. And that wont happen unless your running Very Very high boost levels.

It seems likely that it would give some increase, but the value might be low. $500 for 2HP, for example, would not be a good value. (I have no idea on the price or the HP increase you would get from Extrude Honing, the example is intended for illustrative purposes only). You might think of it as starting with a 5" exhaust system and replacing it with a 5.5" system. If you weren't pushing the limits of the 5" system, the 1/2" increase is not likely to be worth the cost of replacement. (Again, just an illustration).
