Question exhaust suggestions please

I'm looking to quiet my exhaust, and still have good performance. As I bought the car, it has aftermarket header and cat, but appears to have stock Y-pipe and mufflers. I don't remember what brand the header and cat are, but I'm not necessarily looking to keep them. My engine is street ported, but I do not know to what extent, as it was already ported when I got the car.

My exhaust seems very loud, after startup during that 10 second 3000 rpm thing, I am unable to hear my friend's Chevy s10 and my other friend's Accord (with cracked exhaust) both at full throttle on both sides of me (windows down of course). I managed to set off a car alarm multiple times (same car, I think it's a little sensitive too). I'm looking for something that doesn't say "Hey cops, I'm over here!" as I go to a university that specializes in police training, so cops are as abundant as ants. The main priority is noise reduction, so I am willing to loose a small amount performance. I heard of a Honda something my friend saw that has been modded a lot, but is nearly silent. Something like that would be awesome.

Toss those stock mufflers for Racing Beat ones. They sound real nice and are quiet even with headers. They're pricey but worth it for a quiet exhaust system IMO.

Assuming the replacement cat is high flow, which is quieter, the cat, or a presilencer?

probably a presilencer, it is actually designed to deaden the noise where with the cat it is just more of a side effect.
