If all else fails go to your local metal scrap yard and dig up a piece of plate at least 1/4", preferably 3/8". Get enough to do about 10 of them. Take the plate and your gasket to a steel fab shop. Since they usually have a minimum fee, find out how many you can get knocked off for the minimum fee. You could get real clever and catch a shop monkey at lunch and get them to do it on the side for you. After you get the flanges done, come back on to this thread and see if anyone here wants to buy one or more. If not then sell them on Ebay. Just a thought. I know finding things like this can be a real hastle and getting just one made can be pretty expensive.

That is a great link but I looked at the prices for their Chevy flanges which I am thinking they have a lot of and they are $95. What are these guys going to want to charge for a special ticket order?
These guys are doing this stuff on CNC mills. Stainless is some hard stuff to work with but a plasma torch and a steady hand can knock off a nice flange pretty quick. Especially when they can throw his gasket down and trace a pattern from it. These CNC guys want to draw it out in CAD usually. There is nothing quite as frustrating as having a shop ask you for a CAD drawing when you have a flat part in your hand.

That's the problem. The RB one is mild steel. As it is the holiday weekend I couldn't call them to see if the do have it in stainless. I'll call tomorrow and find out. The header that I'm connecting to is all stainless so I'll call the guys that make it also. I'll let yopu guys know.

I can understand if you are wanting to use a stainless flange as a matter of principle. But you can weld stainless and mild steel together using a high alloy stainless filler rod. Since you cannot see the flange anyway that is what I would do.
If anyone tells you that stainless cannot be welded to mild you don't want them welding your header.
Get someone with a TIG setup. A good rule of thumb is that bikers work for beer and a lot of them are welders. A case of beer goes a long way with some of them!

Yeah that is an option. But this is on my race car and it is removed often so the SS would work best. I have welded mild and SS before but the problem is that it rusts very qickly. I have a full TIG setup and MIG for that matter. I tried to make the flange myself but SS is such a bitch to machine.... BTW I work for beer too!

Haha!!! You must be a biker at heart too! You need a plasma torch for the bigger holes. Here is a secret I found out that may be helpful to you. There is a sandpaper called "blue zirconia". This is some really mean ****. When you are working with stainless this stuff is a helluva tool saver. It cuts through hardened steel with no trouble. I use it on flappers when I want to open up holes and 36 grit will tear up some **** pretty quick. The hardcore sandpaper supplies carry it. The finest you can get is 80 grit. If you can't find any let me know.

Oh, Norton Abrasives makes some consumable blades and grinder disks using zirconia as well. You may know about all this, but just in case you don't it will be VERY helpful and that's what this is about, right?

That is even cooler! Usually when I get to looking for something like that I never find it and have to fab it.

I don't think they have a website. They are not very big and are deeply involved in SCCA racing. ITS mostley but the owner Mike races an E Prod. car like mine. They do make some cool ****. give them a call 805-965-5115
