Evan's Coolant Expansion Question
For those that are using Evan's NPG+, how much expansion are you seeing into your overflow tank?
The reason I ask is that I'm considering replacing the stock overflow tank with a smaller one (1 qt) so I can relocate it. Will this be enough and be able to hold about 1/3 full when cold?
Thanks!
Attila

It's a waterless coolant.
If you want zero pressure, then yes just remove the rubber piece on the coolant cap.
I was planning on running a 7psi cap for better flow. I'm using the stock thermostat with (4) 3/16 th's holes; 3 at the bottom and one where the jiggle pin was. The holes are also for additional flow.

I'm running NPG+ and I have a 1 quart expansion tank that I stole from Damian.
I leave the top of the tank open to atmosphere and I end up with it about half full when fully warmed up.
Damian (also running NPG+) has a one quart AST where he plugged the two extra hose barbs. He doesn't have any overflow issues either, but he doesn't leave a vent to atmosphere so the system probably builds a small amount of pressure.
Sam and Ben have 2 quart tanks, vented to atmosphere, one with a valve breather, one with a brass filter. Both running NPG+ no pressure, maybe 1/4 to 1/3 full at full boil... er, no boiling, but fully warm.

How much overflow you have depends on how big your cooling system capicity is.
I run a Griffin 27"x19" x2.5" radiator and have a 1 qt overflow bottle. NPG+ at 0 psi.
Overflow near empty cold, 3/4 full warmed up and at the top at high temps (low 90s C).
I would opt for larger overflow tank if I were to do it again so I could see if I need to add coolant when cold- before it is warmed up and showing in the sight tube...

Maybe I'll just use the stock reservoir and just put a filter inline.
The main reason I wanted to switch to a smaller tank is so I could relocate. It's a bit in the way with the oil cooler line and I hate how all the fine dirt particles used to get sucked back into the engine.
