epoxy for filling side ports

Hi
what do you use for filling side ports while making PP?
Racing Beat is reccomending devcon plastic steel putty, is it the best choice?

may I also use it for filling spaces while placing PP intake pipe into rotor housings?
since rotor housings are alluminium not iron like side plates is it ok to use devcon with them? i am courious about thermal size increase of devcon inside alluminium.

Devcon 10720 aluminum filled liquid epoxy, sold by McMaster-Carr. Heat will get into the epoxy, and the only way for the heat to get out of the epoxy is for it to conduct from the epoxy into the water cooled iron side housing. The alum. filled epoxy will conduct the heat out better than the iron or steel filled epoxy, and last longer too.

Very important: the finished epoxy surface must be at least .030" below the surface of the iron side housing. I learned this the hard way. A piece of .032" sheet aluminum cut to the shape of the port and covered with cellophane shipping tape can become a mold to form the surface. Epoxy will not stick to cellophane. Mount it to another piece of sheet alum or a board, and clamp it tightly to the face of the side housing. Pour Devcon into the intake port from the manifold end. A cheaper epoxy can be used to fill the final (manifold end) inch or two of the port runner.

thanks for advice!

do you reccomend devcon 10720 for both iron side housings and alluminium rotor housings ?
also there is an issue about thermal expansion of the epoxy after getting hot. if it enlarge too much it may crack allum. rotor housing. This is that important to know.

Hi-Temp Lab-metal looks interesting if it really could handle 1000F. devcon is good only below 400F. but i think if those intake places temps are not high..

What do you think about devcon ceramic repair putty 11700?
http://www.devcon.com/techinfo/125.pdf

looks like it is better than allum. and steel putties in its specs.
