Electric water pump?

Hey, I see there is a new product avaliable for our prupose, have any of you guys seen or bought on of the "MEZIERE" electric water pumps from summit racing for mazda rotary? It says they work good for racing and for street driving. In their new catalog its on P. 303. Does any one have any experience with these?

Its been around for a while... I've had mine for over 6 months, but its not installed. WHen you put this pump on, you have to fabricate an alternator bracket... something I haven't had time to do just yet.

Same here, I've had it for a while. It is NOT a bolt-on mod. The alternator needs to be dealt with, you need an inline t-stat if you are going to run one. There's a lot of plumbing rework to do if you use the rotary adapter. I believe you could use this pump without the rotary adapter if you gut the water pump but eliminating the water filler neck would be great - it's pretty big.

Davies Craig has another pump that's probably more of a straightforward installation for a street car.

Hey thanks guys, I keep a real close eye on the forums here and I havent seen any one talking about them. I saaw them for the first time in the catalog like 5 months ago and i thought they looked kinda cool. I mean it is probably nice to go with a good E fan and then get rid of the water pump also, then we dont have to run underdrive pullys and sacrifice less alt. charging. Win Win situation. Thanks guys.

The water pump has a built in thermostat, so you don't have to run an inline T-stat (at least my model does). i have the race pump that flows 55 gallons per minutes. It runs 2 -12 AN fittings from the pump to the front cover, and 1 -20 AN (or -16 if you want) from the front cover to the radiator (you can get hose fittings, but I like the durability of the SS AN fittings. Then, the other end of the radiator has a -20 that goes to the pump, which of course has a -20 on it to. Like I said, you can go with -16, or with hose fittings... but I like the SS stuff.

Any interest in an alternator bracket for use with this setup?

I will be having some plates made to hold the alternator and then bolt the Meziere rotary adapter to that. If anyone is interested, let me know... the more we have intrested, the cheaper the cost will be.

BTW, once said and done, I have over 600 bucks into this pump, and I still don't have everything to get it running. SS lines are expensive, but worth it

You have a Meziere pump with a built in t-stat? Are you sure? I spoke with Meziere himself and talked about t-stats and he pointed me to a good inline t-stat. I also have the high flow version.

I may be interested in the bracket, I'd want more details. I have no other belt driven accessories, so the brack will need a tensioner and I want to mount it low. Maybe the water pump where the AC was and the alt where the PS was. Or even better, mount the water pump behind the alternator down with both of them along the bottom of the engine.
