Tangential?&nbsp That doesn't help - is it divided or collected?

Wrong ... in my humble opinion. Put it right at the the collector for the wastegate which will located below the turbo. You should be interested in EGT readings from the engine, not from the engine and turbo.

I've seen it done both ways and it works ...I'd like one for each side of the manifold but I'm not getting involved with that.

If you mount it in the dp I'd add a couple hunderd to it to be safe. Mounting in the manifold is much more accurate but I've heard people say that you need to get a very high quality sensor so that over time it doesnt break off and go thru the turbo.

Now why would you want to do that?&nbsp The wastegate passages does not actively flow exhaust gases all the time, and it's not part of the main passages for the exhaust anyways?&nbsp Most times, wastegate passages are not even "efficiently" designed into the turbo exhaust manifold, so that'll even give you "weirder" readings than normal.

Ted: Well I made a really really bad description of where I put it. The HKS manifold is divided, but there is a spot where the wastegate taps into each exhaust runner. As I'm sure you know this is a problem with any single wastegate system that tries to truly divide the exhaust pulses to the very end. Anyway the spot where all air is common, right below the turbo is where I put the EGT. You do have me thinking though ... I might put in an EGT just to compare.

The only real way to determine EGT's is to have two probes. "AN" EGT gauge is better than no EGT and I'm sure on the dp or on the manifold will be sufficient. Its not the Shuttle, its a dumb little car. <grin>

I guess my thought is its best on the manifold, but at the rate the EGT's flow out of there does the temp's change that much??? maybe it does.....

Anyway, thanks for the help.

I have seen real race cars on the dp though....(FYI)

I have one right behind the turbine. It is a greddy.
My car isn't running at its full potential now but
my gauge reads 700C (1300F) when I am crusing 70mph in the freeway. And i get 400C (752F) at idle.
