Different motors

is there any differences in rotery's cause one guy i know says he has a 99 spec motor i was like i thought to only difference in motors is 3mm apex seals and street porting help a rotor bro out

all motors mass produced after 1986 have 3 piece 2 mm apex seals, and no they are not street ported. I believe the HP gain on the 99 spec engines was due to changes in the turbo unit

so if i am going to change the turbo anyway it really does not matter?

99 spec engine has big change.
especialy, the metal for the eccentric shaft is adjustable.
then, it can be installed more precisely.
99 spec engine has good feeling and more durable.
These days, 2nd gen FC owners swap 99 spec engine
,if the engine breaking down, insted of overhauling.

well how much is a 99 spec motor and where can i get one? i had my motor overhauled and it pulled hard though

uhm, it takes some modding to mount a FD engine in a FC if you mean FD engine by 99 spec
Diff engine mount locations.

In Japan, the lowest price of the overhauled 99 spec engine
is 350000 yen, equivalent to 3000 US$.
If you want to get the reliable tuner's overhauled engine,
it costs you 450000 yen, equivqlent to 4000 US$.
