Detenation/Good intake temp?

Ok guys, someone please explain detenation to me? also intake temp? how hot can it get before the damage is done?

i would not get too conserned with your intake temps as much as your exhaust temps.. if they are really really hot then your gonna be running really lean and that bads.. more fuel = cooler temps.. I dont see how intake temps could get high enough with an intercooler to damage the engine unless your running lots of psi though yoiur stock system.. detonation is under lean conditions.. keep it stoich and you should be fine
