Cry with me... Hayes motor inside :(

Well I will be damed.
I never posted this here, but this is another Hayes engine.
3 destroyed bearings, killed the rotors, and chewed up the housings for lunch... The turbos also died horribly, one of the compressor wheels were completly sheared off.
(Also shown are my blown 99 turbos... anyone know a rebuilder )

Things I noticed:
1) 93 motor with pre 91 corner seal springs
2) 93 plates that had such bad side step on them, they are dead.
3) NEW 93 rotors, this amazed me. Bad bearings, and now worthless, the sideseals are welded to the rotors
4) 318 turbo II engine housings, epoxied water holes, and bad seal wear
5) They used enough red silicon to seal up a dam.

What kills me is the rotors. They were salvageable, until my father moved them into another area of the shop and the roof leaked

And I dont see anything wrong with the rotors...the surface rust will clean up easily enough. As long as you can move seals in and out of the slots (after cleaning) they should be fine.

Looks that way.

What flywheel was on the engine?

Sorry for your loss. Those rotors may be salvagable...

Another fantastic reason to rebuild your own motor. So you KNOW what you have inside that keg, not only how pretty it is on the outside and how much you paid for it.

Can't trust anyone these days... unfortunately...
