Hey that's pretty cool - I've never seen that before.
Does anyone have any information on this engine besides what is posted at the start of the video?

I used to own one of those engines 10 years ago! never got it started (still in box) when I took it back to the model shop cause I found that it would be impossible on my tight budget (at the time "student" still paying off my first gen!) to configure it to run in a model RC chassis.....it would require too much custom fabrication.

NOW I want one ! Does anybody know where I can get one already set up as a complete running RC car kit ?

I will pay good money, I remember seeing one running in Porsche body 1/8th scale car of the net and it was simply awsome !

I REALY WANT ONE, CAN ANYBODY HELP ME????

IIRC, it can't be run in a car because it needs the prop wash to cool its heatsink. Otherwise, it'd be hella cool....considering it's almost 5x the size of most R/C car engines.

I have seen these on Ebay before. Maybe not the same brand though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3102980022

you ever seen what they do to boat engines with the copper pipe wrapped around the engine?? there is no reason why a similar thing couldn't be used to put one into a car, just need a simple water pump and a little resivour, where there's a will, there's a way, also remeber some of the guys in this thread are from down under WHERE ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!

Think they sell a kit for that copper water pipe mod??

I agree 100%, part of tinkering around with stuff is making it work on your own. It's normally cheeper that way and you get to learn something along the way.

Yeah the motor is no worries, I was asking if anybody knew of a company offering a predone kit that is set up for a car???

The ones I have seen (one posted on here a while back) showed the OS Wankel mounted in a chassis with a special fan about the same OD as the rotor housing for engine cooling then going to a two speed box, it was a bitumen car. I would prefer an of road type but will take either if I can find a pre fitted kit.

I am sure they would be a popular seller with rotary owners` I would love to own one The one I saw on the net all those years ago was fitted with an extractor type muffler and **** me it sounded like a little rotor (more so than in the sample movie above) as it screamed around the track, it was awsome !

Any one dig up info on where I can get a ready done kit from and I will give you a reward If all else fails I will have to resort to making one..........ONE DAY.

Cool video -- that's the first time I have seen one run. That would be cool to have in an RC car.

I've only seen the OS Wankel engines. Make like 1.2hp.
They have them at Tower Hobbies, OS has a site too.

**** it !

I am very much an impulse buyer and decided to buy a traction control unit and a new wide band meter instead of a toy car

I just don't have enough time on my hands to fabricate up a model but am willing to pay for a pre done kit, though not right now after my latest spending spree

But yeah offer is still there to who can locate me a kit, I will look after you Just have to wait a few months till my bank balance recovers.

Untill then I will have to play with cars that are just a tad bigger

Can't be that hard to mill your own mini-Wankel.... No side seals or corner seals on the rotor, just three apex seals and you could probably make those yourself too.

yeah, but think of the engineering nightmare for the e-shaft?

and you KNOW there's gonna be some jackass like me that will want a mini-4 rotor, to go with the full scale 4 rotor.
