Carlos Gonzalez new car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey rotorheads. I was at the panamerican nationals yesterday and I saw Carlos Gonzalez's new car. He used to run the rx2 backhalfed with mechanical injection and he dominated the outlaw class. HIs new car is a 3/4 tube chassis S5 rx7. The motor is a ported RE motor again with mechanical alcohol injection. The car is ******* flawless. I have a ton of photos of the car. I must say that after talking to him about the car I am convinced that he is a class act. Hopefully he will get a major sponsor with the new car (although I dont think that he needs it). I have a ton of pics but I am only going to post one of the mechanical injection because I am nto sure that he wants his setup all over the net. The first time out the car ran a 8.58 spinning the tires for the first 60ft or so. The car was a little squably because of atco shitts track conditions but it still ran mid 8s. Carlos does not let off the gas on that car he drives it like he stole it. This car will definately keep him in the first number 1 spot for as long as he is racing it. Here are some photos

Damn, that must be one of the oddest set ups I've ever seen. I'm suprised at how the IC - throttle body makes a hard 90 going thru that squared off peice. I'd like to see the inside of that squared peice to see what its doing. Seems like everyone normally wants it to be straight as possible not a hard 90.
Can anyone comment on that? What is that squared piece and is it doing something "special"?

now that i look at it, that thing is a freak! frankenstein dragster
And since everyones commenting on his car.
I think its really weird he put a Intercooler behind his fuel cell, and don't most people do away w/ IC's when they have alcohol dragsters? A water/air would probably work nicely also.

yeah, why's he using an ic now, he didn't on the rx3. also, what's the rule for the 3/4 chassis cars in modified class about wheelbase? can you make the car longer as long as the length is added from the firewall back?

yea man, im going to give him a call and see if he has any mechanical fuel pumps that will support 1200 rwhp. Possibly one could run dual mechanical pumps.

I bet it works similar to what a "banjo" discharge except for it's for the intake.  Those things are very deceptively effective.
I wanna know why there's a Cosmo 13B upper intake manifold and not an FD 13B-REW one.
