Carbs and 4port 13b Half BP's?

I'm wondering what size down or side-draft carb would be best suited to a 4port half bridgeported 13b? I've been messing with EFI systems and rotaries and all, but I'm fairly new to understanding carbs and rotaries.

I'd think the 48IDA or the 48DCOE would be the norm for a 1/2 bridge or a small full bridge. Stick with the 48IDA downdraft for better results. There are some 51IDA out there but they all started life as a 48IDA and have been modified. If your familiar with and comfortable with fuel injection I'd suggest sticking with that and buy the appropiate throttle bodies.

There would be no point of running a 2bbl carb on a half bridge. The purpose of the half bridge is to have a close to stock port on the primaries, and bridged secondaries. The car will drive close to stock until the secondaries are opened up. With a 2bbl carb, all ports are working all the time.

I have also been toying around with the idea of a half bridge and a holley 600 (see avatar pic, just need a half bp motor). Primary throttles for primary ports, secondaries for secondaries...it just makes sense.

Oh, I'd never thought about having 2 barrels as compared to 4 barrels... Thanks for educating me!

In that case, maybe I'll try the 48IDA's or 48DCOE's (as mentioned above) with a small full bridge... I'll probably leave quite a thick bridge for reliability sakes.

I'd like to stick with EFI, but I love the response of carbs (had a 1st gen 12A w/ mikuni 44 sidedraft previous to my current TII). Also, buying throttle bodies and another stand-alone would probably cost much more than having a properly set-up carb.

Also, another question... Would the sidedraft or downdraft produce more mid-range torque? Also, would going with the 48IDA help mid-range power/torque as opposed to going with the 51IDA for greater overall power potential?
