Can someone experienced please look at this rotor?
It appears the oil control ring spring came out of it's locating hole and has been walking around the groove. Not sure if I can just make a new hole, if the rotor is junk etc. Any input is appreciated, thank you.
What housing was the rotor in? The builder may have rotated the OCR on the rotor and the spring looks like it was attempting to work its way clockwise to the locating hole. Did you have any smoking issues?
Now looking further at it... It does look like there's a taper to the hole. I would just orient the rotor to the other housing if possible as the other side looks like it should have no problem "gripping" the oil control ring spring.
Thank you Mono, I bought it as a used rotor. I will be using these in a different engine so i can orient them as you say so they grip the good side of the divot. Or maybe even mill a new divot for it to ride in? The rotor looks really good otherwise.
