Can FC beat FD???

I was surprised by the comments that the FC is more stable at high speeds compared to the FD. Granted we are talking about speeds we'll never see even at the track (road or drag track) and the fact the cars at that point should have been modified for better aerodynamics for safety's sake. No numbers here I can vouch for, but has anyone driven both at speeds over 130 and been able to feel a difference? Floaty?

Well, I have some experience in this field. I have taken one of my old TII's to 138 mph, and my current FD to 176mph. I can say with complete confidence, my FD felt MUCH more stable, and ultra smooth, still had great steering firmness. The FC didnt feel nearly as stable, still felt safe, but not as good as the FD. Both runs were on the same highway. The FC and FD were both stock body, the FC was stock height, with all poly bushings, the FD is lowered 2" with all solid bushings and RG coilovers. I have no wings, or front air dam, not even the R1 stock stuff. I feel 190+ would be still stable in the FD.

Thanks GtoRx7 for the reply. Granted your going to hear the 2 inch drop on the FD made the difference, but I think it's a mute point. At speeds up to 140, I'd say a stock FD would "feel" more stable than a stock FC. That's just my opinion until I can actually do it myself. I posted in the 2nd gen section for the nut to fit my DP back to my turbo on my 89TII (anyone know?) and once I get it running later today or tomorrow, I'm going to try it myself. The TII made 230 to the wheels last time out with a tired turbo. Now it has a new turbo and new tokico sport shocks and springs, stock body as far as aero. My FD has coilover suspension setup and a racing beat wing, the one that's just a bit higher than stock. The FD felt great at 150 at Road Atlanta so I might take the TII the next time to a RA track event and see how it feels. Safer there than on a public road at those speed.

Yeah, good coilovers with ride height drop and new bushings (including rear steer elim.) really helped my TII feel planted at speed.

Bumps and whatnot don't really upset the chassis, just the excess of power.

I thought I was having aerodynamic issues at speed once, but it turned out to be wheelspin ~6,000rpm in 4th... Started doing my high speed runs from 5th gear roll on and no problems

A run with GoodfellaFD3S would be a good match for me (2nd gen w/ BNR Stage 4) unless he meant around a circuit (FD>FC there).
