is blow thru carb dangerous???

Im considering running a Holley based blow thru hat setup on my rx3. I've got a old school buddy that was into heavy racing in the 70's and 80's and said he's seen countless cars go up in flames from blow thru carb setups. I guess some seals eventually go out on the carbs and you get a massive pressurized fuel leak that lead to burning the car down. He said on the box type set up he's seen them fill will vapors so much that a small back fire back thru the intake exploded the box and set the car on fire.

Anyone want to chime in and tell me how they put a 100K miles on a Holley based blow thru hat setup with no problems.....I need to feel a little better about this lmao

This is for a daily driven street car

you should check out AusRotary.com

The aussies are much more prone to the blow-thru thing.

...and as I'm here to visit, damn this Alabama weather is nice...

Awww man, you should have gone to the SE section and let us know you were in Alabama. We have a lot of guys around....a few of up just went up to Hustville (from Birmingham) Sat night to meet up with a couple guys from Tenn. Where are you staying in Alabama and how long are you going to be here? If you'd rather just shoot me a pm and let me know.

Thanks for the info on Ausrotary I'll check them out.

That's not the case. Since the advent of aftermarket EFI carby-turbo setups are pretty much a thing of the past over here. Draw-through setups were more common then blow-through back in the day.

If anything he should check out the 1st gen. section on this forum. Plenty of guys running blow-through.
